The pain and discomfort caused by sinus infection symptoms can to a lage extent be treated by some very effective sinus infection home remedies. While there is no pill that you can just swallow that will get rid of your sinus pressure for good there are a number of simple things that you can do that will greatly reduce the symptoms and make the condition much easier to manage.

Sinus Infection Symptoms

Garlic is a powerful and effective sinus treatment, when added to food not only will it improve the taste but garlic's anti bacterial properties actually fights the infections that cause the sinusitis in the first place. It can also be chopped or crushed in a garlic crusher and added to a bowl of hot water. Inhaling the vapours will greatly reduce the pressure and start to clear your sinus infection symptoms, use a towel to prevent the vapours from escaping. If you have an old electric kettle that you don't use any more it can prove to be a very useful for heating up your garlic vapour treatment. You can also add a few drops of Eucalyptus Oil to the water to speed it up a bit and this makes the treatment even more pleasant.

Spice it Up
One of the most enjoyable sinus treatments is to add plenty spice to your food. Spices like Tom Yum paste, and curry powder are excellent sinus infection home remedies. As are chillies ginger and even horseradish. The hotter the better and more effect it is. While spices themselves do not cure sinusitis but they will give you significant relief.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a beneficial health drink, when it's added to a glass of water it's not bitter. Eucalyptus Oil
We mentioned eucalyptus oil earlier now lets talk a little more about it. Warm the oil in hot water and make yourself comfortable in your favourite armchair. Ask you partner to massage the oil into your forehead and the bridge of your nose. Olbas Oil
A severe sinus headache can be greatly eased by the use of Olbas Oil. Inhaling the oil briefly through each nostril will quickly clear your sinus and rapidly reduce even the most severe sinus headache to a more manageable level. Applying a very small dab of olbas oil on your upper lip is an effective way of treating more stubborn cases.

Sinus Irrigation
I do not recommend using a nasal wash (sinus irrigation) because of the risk of causing more sinus infection rather than relieving the symptoms. The treatments listed above will produce very positive results and you should have no need to nasal wash. There is an old adage that says "You should never put anything smaller than your elbow up your nose or into your ear" and if you want to keep your sinus free from infection it's good advise.
